If you want to change careers...
If you are currently unemployed or underemployed, you have an opportunity to explore your career options to see if there is a new high-demand, high-growth career path for you.
Currently, Illinois has defined 5 Key Sectors of employment growth. They include Agriculture, Healthcare, Information Technology, Manufacturing, and Transportation, Distribution & Logistics. You can read more about all of these Key Sectors by visiting Illinois workNet.
Part of determining whether or not you need to change careers includes assessing your skills and interests. If you begin working with KCDEE, we can assist you in this task.
If you are interested in pursuing a new career path, you will need to attend a presentation of KCDEE services.
- Elgin - Monday and Thursday at 1:30PM.
- N. Aurora - Monday at 1:30PM and Thursday at 10AM.
- DeKalb - every other Thursday 2-4PM
- These sessions are free and do not require registration. It is advised to be prompt as sessions can fill up rapidly.
