If you are underemployed...

Underemployed is:

  • Employed only part-time when one needs and desires full-time employment.
  • Inadequately employed, especially employed at a low-paying job that requires less skill or training than one possesses.
  • Not fully or adequately used or employed.
  • If you were working but, were asked to take a reduction in pay, asked to take a reduction in hours, or took a "subsistance job" to pay your bills, you may be underemployed.

If you need to upgrade your skills, finish a program, or gain new skills to become "fully" employed, KCDEE may be able to assist you.

The same services that KCDEE provides to an unemployed job seeker are applicable to an underemployed individual. We can help you assess your current skill level to see if training may provide the catalyst you need to meet your family financial requirements without reliance on assistance from others.

To find out more about the services available to you as a job seeker you may attend a presentation about how you can qualify for many free services.
